Good People, Bad People

Like everyday life we run into our share of good people as well as bad people. When I say bad people I’m not implying they are are mean or nasty on purpose (and some are) . I’m saying that some people are just not good. But what I want to concentrate on are the good people that we’ve recently come across in our adventure so far. Our Columbus fifth wheel trailer that we have named Christopher Robin (the alternatives were worse) has had some issues , some in my control and some out. You see this is a very complex machine so to speak, with lots of do-dads and thingsamajigs that make it perform. When it’s performing it’s awesome, when its not…..

These views are NOT getting old

Just another stop along the road

So apparently we lost our converter, no really we did. The converter for those who are not versed in Christopher Robin is the do-dad that turns 120 volt AC (house power) to 12 volt DC (battery power) to charge our battery so we can run, JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING when we don’t have house power. When we first discovered that there was a problem we called the service department at Albany RV (bad people). They where less then helpful so we we moved on and called Jack (good people) at Palomino [Forest River], the manufacturer of Christopher. Would you ever think of calling the manufacturer rep at Toyota or Ford and getting thru? Not a chance! Well Jack was great and gave me a number for Cherie (good people) their battery/converter expert. It was decided that the converter needed to be checked and Cherie was so concerned with trouble we have been put through that she was sending out a solar panel and paying for new batteries as well as replacement of the bad converter.

Solar 🙂

Our next step was finding a dealer that could do the work and now we where closing in on our next stop, Florida. Hedy did some research on Palomino dealers and we found Travel Camp in Jacksonville and called Tiffany (good people), she could not have been more cooperative and helpful. So on a Friday we dropped it off and drove to St Augustine to stay with our friends Amy and BK (GREAT PEOPLE). I added great people in bold because they where great, they put us up and put up with us for over a week and showed us a great time and we SO MUCH appreciate it! Well long story short we had a couple hiccups with the fix and ended up with a great experience of meeting new good people and what could have been a disaster was a positive experince (and I get a solar panel to play with). So for every bad person you run into there are five people to make up for it. Thanks again Jack,Cherie and Tiffany. And Amy and BK we owe you BIG.
